Questions about Phillip's wife arise periodically. The following is a discussion of her and just who she was.
Periodically someone who has seen a source stating that Phillip was married to Martha "Patty" (no last name available) and will find his mother listed as Martha Littlefield.
One of the sources for this information was a book entitled The Ascendants of Charles Glen Johnson, authored by Charles Glen Johnson. Charles has since stated that this information was printed in error. He now agrees that Phillip married Martha Littlefield, and that his mother was named Martha (no last name available).
Another source is James R. Blanks, who authored the book Burrow Family History. In his book James states that he believes Phillip's wife to be Martha Littlefield based on a conversation with a family source who had a copy of the Littlefield Bible. However, before the printing of his book, had never been able to view this Bible. He also stated that Phillip's mother was named Martha (no last name available) based on his father's will.
In 1996, a photocopy of the Littlefield Bible was located. The Family Bible was printed in 1818, and is said to have belonged to Philip Littlefield. It was handed down to his son Robert Littlefield. The Bible was later photocopied by Alice Gracy who is now deceased.
Note that some names have been numbered for reference purposes only, and did not appear in the original text.
